We are spiritual beings in a human experience.
We believe that spiritual formation can be nourished throughout
the day by natural, flowing experiences that are child-appropriate
and active such as the following:
Chanting Omkar at Circle Time and repeating affirmations.
Listening to a Thought of the Day (e.g., “Do Good,
See Good, Be Good”)
Participating in Hatha Yoga
Learning simple pranayama exercises
Silent sitting
Observing nature
Learning Simple Bhajans, Shlokas, Mantras
Making garlands, rangoli patterns.
Grinding sandalwood into paste
Arranging items on an altar.
Repeating a meal time prayer
Listening to stories from the Puranas, Gita, Ramayana,
etc.
Seeing images of deities in the environment.
Taking “field trips” to the Mandir or going for Thursday
morning Aarthi.
Acting out simple dramas from stories that teach
values.
Encouraging kindness, compassion, tolerance and non-violence
in our daily interactions.
Playing healing mantras at naptime.
Celebrating Hindu holidays.
