• CLASSIC MONTESSORI EDUCATION
Gurukul draws on the philosophy and educational methods developed a
century ago by
Dr. Maria Montessori. The Montessori approach involves
creating a learning environment that nurtures a child’s innate desire to work,
explore and learn. A Montessori education allows children the opportunity to
learn by doing and to develop skills at their own pace.
• UNIVERSAL VALUES
Gurukul’s curriculum embraces the universal values — peace, tolerance,
compassion, self-discovery and spiritual awakening—that are central to
both the Montessori method and Hindu philosophy. Indian cultural and spiritual
themes are woven into the daily learning
experience.
•EXPERIENCED LEADERSHIP
Gurukul operates under the leadership of Ms. Diane Baldwin, who has K-12 certification for school leadership in addition to PK-16 teaching experience. She brings knowledge, skills and awareness about developing the whole child, infusing critical thinking skills and instilling a love of lifelong learning.
• CONVENIENCE
Gurukul, located at the crossroads of Troy,
Rochester Hills, Auburn Hills and Bloomfield
Township, will be open year-round and
offer working parents the convenience and
flexibility of half- and full-day sessions, with
available after-school care.
• PEACE OF MIND
Gurukul Montessori offers a safe, secure and
spiritually uplifting environment for children
on the campus of The Bharatiya Temple. |
