• CLASSIC MONTESSORI EDUCATION
Gurukul draws on the philosophy and educational methods developed a
century ago by
Dr. Maria Montessori. The Montessori approach involves
creating a learning environment that nurtures a child’s innate desire to work,
explore and learn. A Montessori education allows children the opportunity to
learn by doing and to develop skills at their own pace.
• UNIVERSAL VALUES
Gurukul’s curriculum embraces the universal values — peace, tolerance,
compassion, self-discovery and spiritual awakening—that are central to
both the Montessori method and Hindu philosophy. Indian cultural and spiritual
themes are woven into the daily learning
•EXPERIENCED LEADERSHIP, TEACHERS AND SUPPORT STAFF
Gurukul operated under the leadership of Ms. Danielle Thomas is supported by staff members who are Montessori and Early Childhood trained. The staff brings knowledge, skills and the passion of instilling the love for lifelong learning to all the children in our program. Each staff member is trained in CPR, First Aid and Safe Sleep annually.
Gurukul, located at the crossroads of Troy,
Rochester Hills, Auburn Hills and Bloomfield
Township, will be open year-round and
offer working parents the convenience and
flexibility of half- and full-day sessions, with
available after-school care.
• PEACE OF MIND
Gurukul Montessori offers a safe, secure and
spiritually uplifting environment for children
on the campus of The Bharatiya Temple.
